First off, your Amazon swim is an inspiration. I am a World Geography teacher, so your expedition web site is a great teaching tool. Do you plan to conquer the Nile river one day?

As a Peruvian, I´m very proud that your Amazon swim started in my country. Many people around the world don´t know that this large river starts in Peru, and we also have environmental concerns about it. Good luck and best wishes!

Just wish snakes or whatever other creature did not have to be killed just because they are in their own environment and aggressive. The snake should be put back in the water not killed with a machete. Maybe for future reference. Good luck with the rest of the trip!

What an amazing show! What valiant effort. But there is shortage of news. Please provide hourly updates: time, distance travelled, weather, the rate of river flow, dangers faced, animals sighted, photographs, the works. Right now there is too little news. Wishing you the best! Umesh

I came upon an article about Martin online, BBC Mundo while preparing for my Spanish class presentation. Now, my fellow Spanish affectionados and I are following the progress of our hero. Thank you Martin. I, too, am a swimmer and have swum in the Napo River in Peru. My prayers and good intentions go out for a successful completion of your swim. 6519

I once thought of walking from Madrid to India and offering it too to worldly necessities...I never got around, finally, to point my steps in that direction, but I have certainly been soulwalking ever since and keep my capacity of being moved and stunned by human heroes...So many perils, so many voices claiming danger around every quest, yet here you are, Martin, all faith, all hope, all trust, symbolically swimming your way through uncertainty and doubt, touching us all with the drops of life you rise like a human oar...You are a hero for me, miles away, you make me dream and I invoke you each time I need to believe in life, love, faith and myself...You dispel fears, you blow away shadows of remorse for limitation and constraint each time you rhythmically breathe with every stroke...I´ll pray for you and for those that share your adventure and have dared to dream and believe along with you! ¡¡Ánimo, compañero!!
